CHARITY STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

CHARITY OBJECTS

BAJAN PRIDE,

 

shall be an incorporated Charity limited by Guarantee,

shall raise funds for Community Investment

has (for the time being) 3 overlapping charitable purposes for the public benefit;

1. To advance education and educational outcomes 

2. To advance Community & Human Development

3. To advance human rights and access to justice

1. The advancement of education and educational outcomes

 

BAJAN PRIDE will engage in a program of activity which delivers charitable purposes in Barbados, for the public benefit, in particular,

​

improve the life chances of children, young people, & labour force non-participants

​

• By community investment in the Parishes of Barbados that develop & deliver projects which will refurbish, rebuild & transform educational delivery and spaces including schools, libraries, Adult Education Centres, green & functional social spaces, Community Centres,

• By assisting job creation initiatives through training and utilising unemployed citizens to develop skills & partnering with training organisations to work on community investment projects

2. The advancement of Community & Human Development

BAJAN PRIDE will deliver its charitable purposes in Barbados, for the public benefit, in particular

engaging in Health & Wellbeing projects which provide relief for the poor & needy who have an inability to meet basic needs by

​

• repairing and restoring community homes, where individuals and families are living in conditions whose homes present a serious Health & Safety risk to the occupants

• training and utilising unemployed citizens to develop skills & partnering with training organisations to work on community building projects

• By assisting education, through the provision of activities that engage with the principles of Lifelong learning and Work Readiness, e.g., Employability Coaching, practical training and sign posting of learning opportunities

 

3. The advancement of human rights and access to justice

BAJAN PRIDE will engage in a program of activity which delivers its charitable purposes in Barbados, for the public benefit, in particular

 

For the needy who are unable to buy legal services

​

• By supporting, financially or otherwise, the delivery of Advice, Guidance and Representation in Employment Rights & Tribunals

 

Where such aims will be deployed exclusively, in Barbados, for the benefit of citizens in their communities and shall from time to time as the Trustees see fit, work with any partner organisation that imbibes the same or similar charitable aims.

These aims shall be resourced wherever possible by

• Internally developed fundraising activities & events

• Crowd funding platforms

• Philanthropic benefactors

• Trading subsidiaries of Bajan Pride

These Purposes shall from time to time be updated to reflect current thinking and changing socioeconomic circumstances.
